I pulled off the Lammy side panel and shined it up using MARC Command Cleaner. I had recommendations to use Turtle wax rubbing compound. That is a pure abrasive while the stuff I used was part abrasive/part chemical cleanser. It did well removing the oxidized paint and all the extra crap some girl in the eighties painted on there (pretty little stars).
After:
Hmm… might have to click that picture to see it. But it actually is shiny. I put the stella panel on there for a little comparison. In an earlier post I said that the Lambretta is like a “limo scooter.” As an illustration, notice the Lammy panel is like a foot longer than the Stella’s. Bear in mind that the Stella is a large frame Vespa. That’s as big as they come. The lammy is actually 75 inches front to end. I’ll get a side-by-side comparison when it’s all back together to show you how impressive it really is.
So I got a look at this picture after I posted this. I took another because you can’t see a thing in the last one.

I actually thought the stars looked cute, but maybe not if a self-respecting guy is going to ride it more than once…
